Pure Promises for the Oppressed
Ever wonder where God is in the midst of suffering? Where is justice when things go horribly wrong?
There is a much larger answer, but for the sake of brevity I'd like to share this silver nugget with you from Psalm 12:5-7 (NLT):
"The LORD replies, 'I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.' The LORD's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over. Therefore, LORD, we know you will protect the oppressed."
We are assured that God sees, He knows, and He cares. We can stake our hope on His promises! As He heard the cries of His people in Egypt, He responded with rescue.
The oppression comes before the rescuing. The crying out for help precedes God's intervention.
Take heart in God's promises, and practice them!
